“This is your new home.”
I whisper under my breath.
As I walk across the fertile lawn,
Admiring beauty in its depth.
High ceilings and stone buildings inside invite,
Retaining an air of mystery.
They soon will grant me freedom,
And envelop me in their history.
As the pathway guides me,
The air feels different here.
This isn’t where I’ve come from,
The deviance is clear.
A new leaf, a new chapter,
From old to new.
A leaf’s new life away from its tree
After the autumn winds blew.
